Who is the USNSCC

The USNSCC is a nautically oriented training program for young men and women, ages 11 through 17.

The USNSCC allows young people to sample military life with no obligation to join any branch of the armed forces, but a chance to "test drive" the Navy. If a a cadet should decide to enlist in the armed forces, prior USNSCC service may permit entry at an advanced pay grade.

The USNSCC is not a part of the Navy. It is a federally chartered nonprofit organization. All NSCC staff participation is volunteer and non-paid.

The USNSCC excels at instilling courage, patriotism, self-reliance, accountability, pride, seamanship, and other kindred virtues within cadets.

The USNSCC strives to provide a broad educational base to help develop each cadet into a stronger person. This is accomplished by a combination of classroom lecture and hands on training.

Civilians and military personnel present the full range of civilian and military options available to them, and to help explain youth's responsible role in society.

Personal improvement classes, such as Physical Training, Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Sexual Harassment Awareness, and Study Skills classes, are offered by most units on a regular basis.

Hands-on training for Sea Cadets is authorized both on board ships and thru on-shore activities of the Navy and Coast Guard.

Training is conducted by military personnel and by qualified USNSCC officers and instructors.

Some examples of available USNSCC training include:
    Recruit Training
