ENROLLMENT FEES - The cost
of re-enrollment is $53.00 for both NSCC and NLCC. Cadets picking up ID cards
need to turn in their $53.00 reenrollment fee. If you are coming up on your re-enrollment date, please
ensure you coordinate with the your Company Commander or Company Petty Officer
before seeing our Administrative Officer in the Admin Office to order your new
ID Card and Re-Enroll.
WINTER ADVANCED TRAINING
-
Now available. If you do not have it ask your chain of command for a copy. Do not delay or you will miss your opportunity.
OFFICER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
-
Courses 101, 201, and 301 will be offered aboard the Battleship Massachusetts in Fall River, MA on Saturday 5 December 2009 for all adults and senior cadets wishing to become NSCC Midshipmen . OPD 101 covers general NSCC information. 101 is recommended for all adult volunteers and is required for all enrolled instructors and officers. OPD 201 covers administration and training, and is required for all LTJG and above. OPD 301 is unit leadership and mission. OPD 301 is required for LT and above and all commanding officers regardless of rank.
AWARDS
-
If you think you are due an award, a ribbon, or promotion submit a request through the chain of command. Requests will be reviewed and, forwarded up the chain for action. Do not wait for someone else to tell you, you earned something, take the initiative yourself.
ATTENDANCE
– Attendance will be reviewed quarterly instead of
annually. NSCC Regulations state that you must attend 75% of all scheduled
drills. That is nine of twelve drills per quarter. If you do not meet this
minimum standard, you will be administratively warned. If you continue to fail
to meet minimum attendance standards, you will be discharged from the
NSCC/NLCC.
COURSEWORK
- All Cadets are required to turn in at least one (1) coursework assignment per
month. A reminder to those Cadets who have successfully completed Recruit
Training. Please e-mail the Training Officer (karen@mainstream.net), if you
have any questions regarding what course you should be completing or scheduling
any tests.
REPORT CARDS – Do not forget to bring in a copy of your
report cards for Division Officer Review and possible awards of the Academic
Achievement Ribbon. The award of this ribbon has been extended to NLCC Cadet as
well.
CADET OF THE QUARTER and CADET OF THE YEAR – We will be
submitting Cadets names for Cadet of the Quarter and Cadet of the Year. These are not positions that are
awarded based on popularity but on the quality of your service and
participation in the unit.
ANNUAL
INSPECTION - Our annual inspection will be conducted in Janauary. Please ensure you have your Service Dress Uniform ready for
inspection. We will be having special visitors that evening and we MUST be the
example for all. After the inspection, we will have a knowledge
bowl. Attendance
at Annual Inspection is MANDATORY! Cadets not attending must have a valid
excuse. Cadets with unexcused absences may be dismissed from the program.
