Objectives and Goals of the USNSCC

The objective of the USNSCC is to teach youth about self-motivation, discipline, dedication, self-confidence, and today.s military.

  1. To develop in young men and women an interest and skill in seamanship and sea going disciplines.
  2. To make cadets aware of the prestige of a military career.
  3. To instill in cadets an appreciation of our Navy.s history, customs, traditions, and the importance of a modern Navy as an essential element of the Department of Defense team.
  4. To build in every cadet a sense of patriotism, courage, self-reliance, confidence, and similar qualities that will mold good character and citizenship, thus enhancing the quality of our nation.s manpower.
  5. To increase the advancement potential of a cadets who may later elect to serve in the Navy.
